Special Notice to all NHLoGIN Members and Subscribers,
Due to a very low RSVP count, which no doubt is due to the additional local efforts dealing with ongoing power outages and expected weather difficulties, NHLoGIN has decided to cancel the Fairpoint presentation that was planned at the NHLoGIN Annual Meeting this Friday, December 19.
We know that many are very interested in this presentation, and we expect to reschedule it to a later NHLoGIN meeting sometime in 2009. Notification will be sent out once that date has been set.
The NHLoGIN Annual Business Meeting will still take place on Friday, December 19, because the by-laws require it. However, this meeting is expected to last at most 15 minutes, to be followed by a lunch for those present.
Those still planning to attend the meeting should RSVP to aschaffer@manchesternh.gov by Thursday, December 18 at 4:00 pm.
**Please pass this message on to those you know who may have been planning to attend this meeting.
-Your NHLoGIN Board
For over 10 years, NHLoGIN has helped government officials and employees from all over New Hampshire to collaborate with each other through our list serve and web site. With this new web portal, we are proud to be able to offer even more resources for inter-governmental professional networking, online discussion, and information sharing.
To our fellow NH Local Government Center affiliate groups, we are offering several new services, such as secured discussion forums and a document library. We also offer affiliate groups the opportunity to participate in NHLoGIN initiatives through our Delegate Board Member positions. For more information, please email us at info@nhlogin.org.
About NHLoGIN
Information Technology (IT) is utilized by more and more government agencies to provide services, reduce costs, and improve access to information. At any one time, most local governments are either considering, planning, or deploying IT initiatives – often, more than one at time. But as IT uses and opportunities continually increase and evolve, so too do the challenges, costs, and options faced by local governments. Many agencies have limited or no IT staff or support, and State IT projects can introduce costs and requirements at the local government level.
NHLoGIN seeks to fill the role of a collective voice of as well as for local government IT needs and issues. Municipalities, county governments, school districts, other local government entities, and State agencies benefit from sharing information and experiences, resulting in better uses of IT for government services while saving time and money.
Membership in NHLoGIN is open to all those involved in or working with New Hampshire local governments, including cities, towns, counties, school districts, and more. Our broad membership base includes employees from all levels of government as well as elected and appointed officials, volunteers, and vendors. Together we are an organization with a proud history of local government IT service, information sharing, advocacy, and influence.
